Principal Accountabilities


As a Technical Lead Engineer you will:


· Be an organised, proactive and motivated individual able to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
· Provide oversight and approve Nuclear Safety Category 3 changes.
· Lead joint Task Forces for Nuclear Safety Category 2 changes.
· Collaborate with colleagues to achieve high-quality technical outcomes and uphold safety-critical standards.
· Actively contribute in meetings, fostering constructive, delivery-focused discussions and supporting timely technical decision making.
· Support the identification and implementation of standardised technical solutions for recurring construction, installation and commissioning challenges.


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience


Essential


You will have good communication and presentation skills, being able to liaise with a variety of stakeholders across the wider business at various management levels from mid management up to director level.


You will need to:


· Have a growth mindset
· Be resilient, adaptable and have a willingness to learn and develop
· Understand an individual level of knowledge and where to receive guidance
· Be proactive in identifying where you can add value in the resolution of complex engineering problems across your specialty
· Demonstrate and apply technically sound engineering judgements
· Be able to work effectively as part of a team while also acting autonomously when required
· Be pragmatic and practical in your approach to developing solutions
· Be able to demonstrate an ability to resolve issues of high complexity/risk in own technical discipline/area autonomously and contribute to the substantiation of the safety case where required
· Be a competent user of Microsoft software
· Have the ability to interpret complex technical information, assess its impact on plant performance, and communicate this clearly to stakeholders


Qualifications & Experience


Essential


· Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering
· Demonstrable evidence of problem solving and stakeholder management
· Understanding of civil and mechanical interfaces
· Strong communication skills in English
· Experience of onsite engineering


Desirable


· Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
· Previous experience working in the Nuclear Industry
· Working in engineering design
· EPR building, plant and system knowledge
· Safety Case Knowledge and previous experience of Nuclear Safety Categorisations
· Knowledge of Technical French Language can be an advantage
