The Opportunity


Hinkley Point C is helping deliver An Electric Britain. As an I&C Engineer, you'll join our Joint Design Office Instrumentation and Control team, helping to support commissioning and plant readiness on one of the world's most significant engineering projects.


You'll focus on modifications to the Siemens SPPA-T2000 Standard I&C platform. From assessing design changes to testing and validation, you'll play a vital role in making sure systems are safe, effective and ready for operation.


Working alongside EDF and Siemens specialists, you'll help turn engineering solutions into reality while maintaining the high standards expected within the nuclear industry.


What You'll Be Doing


Supporting on-site modifications to the Siemens SPPA-T2000 Standard I&C platform
Assessing how proposed changes affect hardware, software and plant operation
Producing and updating I&C programming for AS620 Tec4, OM690, ALS and MOP applications
Carrying out verification and validation activities
Supporting functional testing and investigation of issues identified during testing
Updating engineering records, diagrams and technical documentation
Working closely with commissioning, electrical and system engineering teams
Supporting Siemens specialists during detailed design activities
Helping maintain accurate configuration and design control
Highlighting risks, opportunities and delivery challenges to support project success
 

Who You Are


You're an engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with others and taking ownership of technically challenging work.


You'll bring:


A degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Experience working with complex I&C systems in an industrial environment
Knowledge and practical experience of Siemens SPPA-T2000 technology
A solid understanding of process signals, logic processing and alarm management
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
A proactive approach, with the confidence to ask questions and challenge where needed
A commitment to quality, safety and technical rigour


It would be great if you also have:


Experience within nuclear, power generation or process plant environments
Knowledge of EPR technology or EPR I&C systems
Experience supporting commissioning, operations or maintenance activities on large industrial facilities
 

Location And Working Pattern


This role is based full-time on-site at #HPC.


You'll work closely with colleagues across engineering, commissioning and project delivery functions. Regular on-site presence is essential to support plant modifications, testing and commissioning activities.
