The Opportunity
We are looking for Coatings Operatives to join our Coatings Package of Work at Hinkley Point C on a Permanent Contract. At the Hinkley Point C site we are responsible for delivering containment liner coatings, surface protection for concrete in the internal building rooms for both nuclear reactors along with specialist access solutions. To maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
How you will make an impact
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of surface preparation methods and the application of protective concrete coating systems.
- Work in line with all site Health & Safety requirements and ensure compliance with HPC and KAEFER safety standards at all times.
- Safely use and work from access equipment, including scaffolding and mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs).
- Carry out surface preparation activities using hand and mechanical methods, with a basic understanding of abrasive blasting processes and blast equipment set-up where required.
- Apply a range of coating systems, including single-pack and two-pack paints, primers, and high-build protective coatings.
- Use a variety of coating application techniques, including brush and roller application, with an awareness of spray application fundamentals and associated equipment set-up.
- Support quality control activities by understanding inspection requirements and carrying out checks such as wet film thickness (WFT), dry film thickness (DFT), and environmental readings.

- HSE Operatives Test or CCNSG (Can be obtained when going through Clearance process for HPC)
- Train the Painter, OPITO or iCATS certificates essential (minimal of Bronze level or equivalent).
- Must have at least 1+ years experience in Coatings, Blasting or Spraying
Desirable:
- Full UK Driving Lisence
- PASMA Certificate
- CCNSG or CITB HSE Test for Operatives

The salary for this role is competitive and comes with the following benefits:

- Pension based on minimum of 5% from employee, 5% from KAEFER
- Discretionary, non-contractual, company bonus scheme in line with CESA Agreement (paid weekly)
