Trainee Heavy Plant Technician

Job Responsibilities
- Assisting with service, maintenance, and repairs on heavy plant machinery such as crushers, screeners, and trommels.
- Helping diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Using diagnostic tools under supervision to troubleshoot problems.
- Carrying out routine workshop tasks and keeping work areas clean and organised.
- Supporting accurate record-keeping for repairs and services.
- Following all company health and safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- A genuine interest in plant machinery, mechanics, or engineering.
- A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude.
- Basic mechanical knowledge (even hobby-based) is helpful but not essential.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance, Automotive, Engineering, or similar is beneficial-but we will consider candidates without formal qualifications.
Experience
- Full UK driving licence preferred (not essential for the right person).
- Having your own tools is a bonus but not required initially.
