In this role, you'll be the ambassador of Sizewell B Power Station, delivering presentations and site tours to various groups. You'll need to be quick-thinking, friendly, and confident in all aspects of the role, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors whatever their background.
This role is offered as a permanent, annualised hours contract. We're recruiting on a flexible contract, with a minimum contracted hours of 8 per week. The hours would normally be worked Monday - Friday, the demand of tours may require additional hours to your contracted hours and occasional evening work.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Station Guide, you'll be the face and voice of Sizewell B Power Station and EDF, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors throughout their visit. You'll represent the station at external events, delivering presentations to various groups, from business visitors to educational institutions. You'll support educational groups through centre activities and station tours, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and work with the Visitor Centre Co-ordinator and the existing team to promote and manage EDF's reputation in the local community.

Requirements:
A good level of physical fitness is required for this role.
The majority of our Visitors are students visiting with Schools and colleges, experience of working with young people would be an advantage.
We're looking for a friendly and approachable person with an interest in Science and Engineering, who can be flexible with the days they work each week. You'll need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn about the world of nuclear energy. You'll need to be IT literate, able to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook competently, and have excellent communication and customer service skills. Most of your time will be spent on station leading walking tours, each lasting approximately 3 hours
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
