Visitor Centre Guide
Sizewell C

Could you be the face of Sizewell C in our local community?

Visitor Centre Guide | Leiston, Suffolk | 1 day per week
Salary - £30,238 pro-rated to 1 day per week
Bonus target – 5%
Closing date - 11th November 2026

This isn't your typical job. And we're not looking for your typical candidate.

We're looking for someone warm, confident and genuinely passionate about Sizewell C and the community around us. Someone who loves meeting people, can make anyone feel welcome and enjoys telling a great story.

Based at our Sizewell Visitor Centre, Coronation Park, you'll become one of the faces of the project, helping visitors understand what we're building, why it matters and what it means for Suffolk and the generations to come.

And here's what makes this opportunity a little different: it's for just one day a week.

Because of the nature of our visits and events, that day may occasionally involve a split shift or some flexibility around hours, so we think this could be perfect for someone who lives locally and is looking for a really interesting part-time role where no two days are quite the same.

What might your day look like?

One minute you could be welcoming people into the Visitor Centre, the next you might be hosting a site tour, talking to a local school, getting involved in a STEM workshop or supporting a community event.

You could find yourself speaking with schoolchildren, local residents, community groups, stakeholders or visitors from much further afield. You'll help bring the Sizewell C story to life, answer questions and make sure everyone who visits us leaves having had a brilliant experience.

The role also gets out and about. Our Visitor Centre Guides support school and college activities, careers fairs, STEM festivals and community events, as well as helping with themed events at the Visitor Centre.

We're much more interested in you than a long list of qualifications

You don't need to arrive knowing everything about nuclear energy or the Sizewell C project. You do need to be curious, enthusiastic and excited about learning, because you'll build the knowledge to confidently talk about the project and represent it within our community.

We're looking for someone who:

Absolutely loves talking to people and can connect with all sorts of audiences
Is warm, friendly and naturally welcoming
Is confident speaking to groups and answering questions
Is enthusiastic, positive and genuinely interested in Sizewell C
Has great customer service instincts and knows how to make people feel looked after
Is comfortable working independently as well as being part of a small, close-knit team
Is happy to learn and develop a really good understanding of the project
Can be flexible around working patterns when visits or events require it
Has previous experience in a customer-facing role

If you've worked in hospitality, tourism, retail, education, visitor attractions, events or another public-facing environment, you could be a fantastic fit. Equally, your experience might come from somewhere completely different.

For us, personality really matters.

Why this role is special

Sizewell C is one of Britain's major infrastructure projects, and our Visitor Centre gives people the opportunity to understand the project first-hand, from its role in Britain's journey to net zero to its impact on employment, skills and the local community

As a Visitor Centre Guide, you're not sitting behind the scenes.

You're the welcome. You're the conversation. You're the person who can turn a visit into a memorable experience.

So, if you're local to Leiston, you're looking for something a little different for one day a week and you'd love the opportunity to represent a project that's happening right here in Suffolk, we'd really like to hear from you.

Interested?

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
