Telehandler Operator (Sizewell C)

Main Duties:


- Operate a telehandler to transport materials around the construction site safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload deliveries including pallets, scaffold, brick packs, timber, and bulk materials.
- Deliver materials to various floor levels or scaffolding using boom and fork attachments.
- Conduct daily pre-use checks and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Safely navigate in tight or congested areas and around workers or other equipment.
- Maintain visual contact with banksmen or slingers when operating in restricted areas.
- Keep the telehandler clean and well-maintained, ensuring all safety features are functional.
- Follow all site traffic management plans and lifting protocols.
- Support general labouring or site logistics tasks when telehandler work is not required.
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times.


Requirements:


- Valid CPCS or NPORS Telehandler Operator certification
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Lifting Operations certification (desirable if operating with suspended loads or using lifting accessories)
- Manual Handling and Site Safety Awareness training
- Experienced in operating telehandlers in live construction environments
- Good spatial awareness and hazard perception
- Strong understanding of load limits, lifting procedures, and balance
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors or slingers/signallers
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and a strong team player
- Willingness to assist with general site duties when needed
