Opportunity for a Site Procurement & Contract Manager working with IDE Technologies on the Sizewell C Project,


Established in 1965, IDE Technologies is a world leader in water-treatment solutions. The company specialises in the development, engineering, construction and operation of desalination plants, industrial water treatment and water reuse, using advanced technologies. The company has several offices around the globe and this is a first project in the UK, in the Suffolk area. A 5,000m3/day sea water reverse osmosis desalination plant
will be constructed , which is scheduled to be completed before the end of 2025. 


The Site Procurement & Contracts Manager will play a vital role in various aspects of the infrastructure project. This position requires strong organizational skills, and a business acumen. 


Position and Opportunity Overview 


The Site Procurement & Contracts Manager is responsible for: 

 

  • Setting up all subcontracts and local vendor purchasing orders;
  • Overseeing and managing all of the UK related procurement;
  • Following up and expediting the orders and agreements to ensure compliance;


What You Will Do 

 

  • Assist in sourcing and negotiating with subcontractors and local vendors
  • Support in the issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFP) and receiving proposals
  • Ensure all subcontract requirements are met, and are aligned with client's master contract
  • Prepare the commercial evaluation including complete comparative table and recommendation of contractors, subcontractors, vendors for final negotiations.
  • Issue the Purchase Orders and Agreements after internal sign off
  • Follow up on vendor documents, bonding, and vendor progress;
  • Monitor all subcontract activities and conduct site meetings for tracking progress
  • Manage communication with subcontractors and local vendors
  • Identify issues and contractual risks and flag them as necessary
  • Review all subcontractor reporting and pay applications prior to processing;
  • Manage any and all subcontract variations;
  • Manage and control contract BOQ (Bill of Quantities) versions and updates.
  • Attend Project Procurement Meetings & Risk Assessment Meetings
  • Escalate as necessary


Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent
  • Min. 5 years of experience administrating projects
  • Min. 5 years of procurement experience on infrastructure projects
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of UK contractual law and UK construction contracts.
  • Engineering acumen
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interface with and connect with a variety of functions at all levels across an organisation.
  • Ability to summarize and focus on the critical issues Software Programs
  • MS Office
  • ERP Experience
