Site Operations Health & Safety Advisors (Sizewell C)

Location: Leiston, Suffolk site based -5 days per week.
Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: £55,000 –£60,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.
Please note Interviews are expected to begin onsite in early January 2025.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We’re looking for multiple experienced Site Operations Health and Safety Advisors to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering key projects for Sizewell C. This role will involve health and safety support and advise to internal site operations, freight and logistic management, passenger transport safety, site infrastructure & Utilities, FM, accommodation, catering, health and security.

- Site Operations Health & Safety Advisor – (Construction Focused)
- In this role, you’ll work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, and Tier 1 Contractor teams to ensure all health and safety requirements are met on-site. Your ability to engage with stakeholders, challenge practices constructively, and mitigate risks will ensure seamless delivery of construction projects.
- You’ll that the Principal Contractor and associated Tier 1 contractors are complying with their requirements under Construction (Design & Management) (CDM) Regulations. Working to support and promote health, safety and wellbeing during pre-planning and delivery stages to ensure the Sizewell C project expectations are fully embraced.

- Collaborating with construction leaders to embed safety into every phase.
- Providing expert guidance on legislative and site-specific safety standards (including CDM Regulations).
- Driving a proactive approach to mitigating risks in high-pressure environments.
Site operations Health & Safety Advisor – (Service/Transport Focused)

Key Skills and Qualifications
- Background in construction (with CDM Regulation experience), OR a background transport or service environments.
- Passion for health, safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
- Experience leading investigations into accidents, incidents, and ill health.
- Self-aware team player who leverages strengths effectively.
- Recognized Health & Safety qualification.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent safety results.
- IOSH Membership and a valid CSCS Card.
Desirable
- Previous experience in the nuclear industry.
- Degree in Construction or Transport, Environment Studies or another relevant field.
