Site Engineer (Sizewell C)

Main Duties:


Engineering & Setting Out


Carry out accurate setting out of civils, concrete, structural, and/or utilities works using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment.
Check drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure construction activities align with design intent.
Undertake as-built surveys and produce associated records.


Quality Assurance & Documentation


Prepare, maintain, and complete Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), check sheets, and quality records.
Ensure all works comply with nuclear QA standards and site procedures.
Assist in managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
Ensure materials and workmanship meet required technical standards.


Site Coordination


Support Site Managers and Supervisors with day-to-day engineering support.
Coordinate with subcontractors on technical requirements, sequencing, and work interfaces.
Attend daily briefings, coordination meetings, and support short-term planning (look-aheads).


Health, Safety & Environment


Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all activities follow SZC safety rules, RAMS, and safe systems of work.
Carry out site inspections, support temporary works processes, and ensure environmental controls are applied.


Reporting & Communication


Maintain accurate records of progress, measurements, and site activities.
Support commercial teams with quantities, measurement, and change control where required.
Provide clear and timely technical feedback to engineering and management teams.


Requirements:


CSCS (Engineering/Technical or Professional level)
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
First Aid at Work (preferred)
Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator qualification (desirable)
Eligibility for BPSS vetting
Previous experience as a Site Engineer on a major civils or infrastructure project (energy, nuclear, rail, highways, marine, or similar).
Strong setting-out skills, including use of modern surveying equipment (GPS, total station, digital levels).
Good understanding of concrete works, earthworks, drainage, utilities, or structural works.
Experience with ITPs, QA documentation, and technical reporting.
Good understanding of temporary works processes, permits, and construction sequencing.
Prior experience on Hinkley Point C or another regulated/nuclear site (desirable).
