Opportunity for a Site Engineer (Sizewell C) working with Blackwell Earth Moving on the Sizewell C Project,


Undertaking the key duties of a Blackwell Engineer.  A Project Engineer is expected to have relevant experience in most of these areas from previous employment. 


Deliverables include: 

 

  • Site Survey (GNSS primarily) + Set out for Earthworks (including visualisation stake-out including use of batter rails + travellers) 
  • Reviewing models for 3D Machine Control 
  • Reviewing Works Information (drawings, specifications etc) and working with Foreman to decide on optimal construction methods 
  • Writing key job documentation (Plans, RAMS etc) with Foreman to ensure works are constructed safely, efficiently and properly 
  • Ensuring all QA is planned, executed and filed in a timely manner 
  • Including ensuring ITP's and Checklists are in place prior to works commencing 
  • Site 'spot' soils quality checks including topsoil plasticity testing and microwave moisture content testing (as well as indicative exploratory work to determine stabilisation mixture percentages) 
  • Undertaking near-term rolling-wave planning to assist site management 
  • Commercial awareness including identification of events to the Commercial Team 
  • Correct receipt of verbal instructions (including sketching + recording details of instruction received) 
  • The role is site based.


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • Eligible to join (or already on) the ICE as a graduate grade member and commence progression to IEng status. 
  • Existing right to work in the UK 
  • Full UK Drivers Licence 
  • Degree level education
  • White CSCS card


Desirable: 

 

  • B or higher in Math, Further Math and/or Physics A-Level (or equivalents) 
  • Relevant experience (+1 years) working for an earthmoving contractor 
  • Eligible to join (or already on) the ICE as a graduate grade member and commence progression to CEng status.
  • Relevant experience (+3 years) delivering most of the Deliverables within a Civil Engineering context (or similar)
