Be part of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure delivery programmes.
We’re looking for a seasoned Site Delivery Lead – Civils to join the Sizewell C project, supporting the delivery of one of Europe’s largest low-carbon energy developments. This is a high-impact role, responsible for leading a major section of the site delivery footprint, encompassing heavy civils, concrete structures, marine works and complex infrastructure packages.
Working client-side within the Principal Contractor framework, you’ll provide leadership across capital works and civils delivery, ensuring safe, efficient progress on a scale rarely seen in the UK construction landscape. This includes overseeing a portfolio of works across major civils, enabling works, networks, and large-scale buildings as part of a coordinated programme approach.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead and manage a team of senior managers responsible for the successful delivery of civils packages on site
Oversee Principal Contractor duties in line with CDM regulations and SZC’s safety culture
Manage cross-programme and alliance interfaces – including MEH and Civils alliances
Drive delivery performance against key metrics – safety, schedule, budget, and scope
Ensure integration of all site-based activities and interface management with key delivery functions
Own the programme execution strategy for your area, working in alignment with the overall infrastructure delivery roadmap
Influence and lead matrix teams including quality, safety, and technical assurance functions
Escalate and resolve risks, resource challenges and delivery blockers
What you’ll bring:
Deep experience in heavy civils, major infrastructure, marine civils, or tunnelling, construction ideally on mega projects
Proven delivery in a Tier 1 contractor environment or in a client-side programme leadership role
Hands-on experience with reinforced concrete structures, high-integrity formwork, deep foundations, or large-scale earthworks
Strong track record in managing multi-disciplinary teams through all phases of the project lifecycle
Ability to lead NEC/FIDIC contract delivery and manage complex commercial interfaces
Experience working in regulated or high-hazard environments, ideally nuclear or comparable
Professional qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (CEng / Fellow preferred)
A collaborative, solution-driven mindset with a focus on delivery and continuous improvement
Why join us?
At Sizewell C, you’ll be part of a once-in-a-generation project delivering secure, low-carbon energy to millions. You’ll join a high-performing team that values technical excellence, safety, and collaboration. If you’re looking to shape a project that truly matters – this is your chance.
Sizewell C Limited (Sizewell C) is a nuclear site licensed company whose business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Sizewell C was formerly under the majority ownership of the EDF Group but is currently majority owned by HM Government and operates as an independent company. EDF remains a key shareholder in Sizewell C and the business therefore maintains close links to EDF as a part of its ‘nuclear family’.
As a Sizewell C employee, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. As a project, we do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
