A Senior Planner is required to join the SZC MEH Alliance. The role is both a critical and high-profile role, reporting into the Lead planner. The individual shall work alongside other senior members of the Alliance team, other senior members of other Alliances and key suppliers and contractors. The role is pivotal in establishing the integrated project planning baseline upon which the multi £Bn MEH scope of work shall commercially, and execution methodology be based. The establishment of the integrated plan requires strategic thinking, polished influencing skills and stakeholder management to reach desired outcomes. The ability to flex between strategic and tactical issues is also a key facet of the role, combined with the ability to combine abstract pieces of data to formulate solutions and translate into a coherent & logical framework.
Accountabilities:
• Schedule Management - The process for developing, baselining and monitoring of an integrated schedule to inform the direction of the project
• Resource Management - the process of identifying and scheduling the resources (people/facilities/materials etc..) required to implement the programme
• Resource Capacity Planning - The ability to prepare and maintain an overall schedule for resource use a project/programme which avoids bottlenecks and conflicting demands, and which sequences outcomes in order to enable the efficient realisation of benefits.
• Independent Assurance - The ability to gather independent evidence in support of the development of the overall MEH integrated schedule
• Planning Structures - Understanding of how to structure a schedule to appropriately deliver Work/Scope and provide cost analysis
• Project Lifecyle - Understand and able to apply project lifecycles to a schedule
• Scheduling - Understanding and application of schedule anatomy and scheduling techniques including appropriate use of activities, relationship links, constraints, float and critical path analysis
• Resourcing - Application and analysis of applying labour and non-labour resource to a schedule
• Estimating - Understanding and application of the schedule during the estimating process.
• Budgeting/Cost/Commercial/EVM - Understanding and application of commercial contract arrangements (NEC), Cost analysis and Earned Value Management
• Managing Scope Using the schedule to adequately capture project scope and manage change and record progress.
• Primavera Planning software - Application & Use of Primavera software.
• Responsible for establishing and subsequently maintaining the MEH integrated schedule spanning from government investment decision to handover to operations and commissioning teams.
• Lead the team in the establishing the schedule baseline position in support of the overall integrated baseline and the ongoing governance control of these.
• Manage the broader scheduling staff & team to develop, manage, revise, and analyse integrated project schedules including all phases of project execution
• Provision of regular management reporting both internal and external to the programme to provide relevant, accurate and reliable information on the status and forecast of the programme
• Interfacing with and influencing key stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
• Establishing, hosting, supporting and chairing planning/scheduling governance reviews at appropriate points during the programme
• Gathering independent planning and scheduling evidence that the programme is likely to achieve the success criteria
• Collation of lessons learned and onward communication to business process owners.
• Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans taking account of availabilities and scheduling
• Ensure that planning requirements are flowed down into the supply chain
• Schedule Risk analysis inputs/outputs

Minimum Qualifications:
• Engineering or Project Management Degree Qualified or Equivalent; APM Project Professional or equivalent; NEC accreditation; Project risk management qualification
• P6 Expert
• Individual who has experience of a senior planning position on a major project or programme (>£1Bn) in a complex infrastructure environment (c5 years)
• Experience of regulated, high hazard industries
