Job Role 


The CWA is recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager (SSW Packages) to play a pivotal role in the delivery of one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. Working within the Transverse Manufacturing team, this position will lead the management and oversight of Tier 1 subcontractors responsible for the design development, fabrication, supply and delivery of Secondary Steel Work (SSW) packages supporting the Sizewell C project.


This is an opportunity to join a complex, highly regulated environment where manufacturing excellence, collaboration and technical leadership are critical to project success. The successful candidate will ensure components are delivered safely, compliantly and on schedule, supporting efficient installation across the project


Lead the delivery of Secondary Steel Work supply and installation packages across multiple project areas.
Act as the primary interface between Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing and Construction teams.
Oversee Tier 1 subcontractor performance, providing technical guidance and support throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
Drive right-first-time manufacturing, reducing rework, late design changes and retrofit activities.
Manage technical documentation, configuration control, design changes and governance requirements.
Support delivery planning to ensure factory production aligns with site installation requirements and programme milestones.
Identify and mitigate risks while driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Champion the highest standards of safety, quality and operational performance


Qualifications 


A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent qualification.


Experience 


Significant experience delivering complex off-site fabrication or secondary steelwork packages.
Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and manufacturing performance within large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of quality requirements and governance processes within regulated environments.
The ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications and interface information.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience with procurement, commercial management and NEC contracts would be advantageous.
Previous experience on nuclear new build projects, such as Hinkley Point C, would be beneficial.
