Main Duties:


The Ride-On Roller Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of rollers to compact soils, aggregates, and other materials as part of the Sizewell project works. Key duties include preparing and compacting materials to specification, supporting earthworks and infrastructure activities, and ensuring a high-quality surface finish. Operators will be required to carry out daily machine checks, maintain equipment in good working order, and report any defects promptly.


The role demands strict compliance with Sizewell's health, safety, and environmental procedures, working to project standards and site method statements. Effective communication and teamwork with supervisors, engineers, and ground staff are essential to ensure safe, productive, and compliant site operations.


Requirements:


Valid CPCS or NPORS Ride-On Roller ticket (essential).
Additional plant operating certifications (e.g., telehandlers, excavators, dozers) are advantageous.
Proven experience operating ride-on rollers on construction, earthworks, or infrastructure projects.
Previous work on large-scale or high-compliance projects (desirable, e.g. energy, nuclear, highways, or rail).
Experience achieving required compaction levels to specification.
Familiarity with working under strict health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Ability to operate safely around other plant, vehicles, and ground staff on busy sites.
Experience completing daily machine checks and reporting defects.
