Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor (Sizewell C) working with Balfour Beatty on the Sizewell C Project,


A Quantity Surveyor who has a track record in managing all costs relating to civil engineering projects, from 
the initial calculations to the final figures. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for 
money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Typically, they will be a Chartered Member 
of the RICS, ICES or CIOB or working towards membership.


Requirements:

 

• Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying is desirable
• Ability to resolve conflict and build respect between multi-disciplinary teams
• Encourages inter-team collaboration as well as with off-site functions
• Strong communication and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills 
• Sets challenging goals for self and others to achieve
• Takes difficult decisions as necessary
• Quality of Service Provision
• Understand economic factors that affects the construction industry
• To manage the feedback of commercial data to Planning and Estimating
• The ability to review tenders and cost data
• To manage the preparation and review of Earned Value Management
• Manage the preparation of the monthly operating statement and associated commercial reports
• To be able to report and explain the commercial progress to senior teams
• Formulation of management plans for resource procurement
• Understanding of disputes resolution including options, structure as well as knowledge of the SCL Protocol
• chain management and procurement techniques, estimating and surveying functions
• Experienced in the recruitment and development of talent within the business
• Ability to provide feedback on team members strengths and weaknesses and support performance management
• Determining project commercial staff requirements
