Project Manager - Turbines (Sizewell C)
Sizewell C. The power of good for Britain.
Location: London (3 days per week) with occasional travel to France and Germany.
We operate on an office-based contract model, but support hybrid working where possible. This means you’ll need to be based within reasonable travel distance of the office and able to attend in person when business needs require, typically 3 days per week, though this may vary by team or project. Flexibility to be on site when needed is essential.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 dependent on experience. There is also a bonus, a market leading pension (up to 15% employee contributions) also other flexible benefits including electric vehicle leasing, health care screening, product discounts, critical illness insurance, gym membership, season ticket loans and more.
As this role is within a government-funded project, we are required to comply with strict UK right-to-work legislation. Unfortunately, this means we are not able to provide visa sponsorship or support with immigration applications. To be considered, applicants must already hold the legal right to live and work in the UK. We are committed to equality of opportunity and warmly welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who meet this requirement.
The Opportunity
Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy.
Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support with construction to start this year.

In particular, you will be managing work related to the Turbine Building of the SZC project, solving both timing and technical challenges that are critical to the success of the SZC project.
Your role will require strong leadership to manage the MDT to solve technically complex problems and to ensure that nuclear safety is maintained whilst delivering against strict quality standards, timescales and budget.
The work is likely to involve the direct management of contractors as part of project delivery as well as project managing the delivery of multiple stakeholders and delivery partners to enable the success of the project. The role would require demonstrable project management experience as a minimum together with a strong understanding of engineering within a nuclear environment.
Who you are…
We’re looking for hands-on Project Professionals with proven demonstrable experience in management and major project delivery, preferably aligned to conventional island power plant scope.
You will have a strong technical background enabling the understanding and communication of complex technical ideas to a range of audiences within the framework of large-scale projects, preferably within a related or relatable field.
You’ll be able to demonstrate success in Engineering design, contract and execution strategies for project delivery. You will be familiar withMulti-discipline projects, and management of complex stakeholders, proficient in the use of project controls.
You've managed contractors, consultants, and advisors in regulated environments.
Your communication, presentation, and organizational skills are excellent, allowing you to build strong relationships and networks.
Your leadership skills shine through successful stakeholder engagement and effective team management.
A degree in engineering or a related area is essential, and professional qualifications in engineering and project management such as MIMechE, MICE, MCIOB, or APM ChPP are very desirable.
Knowledge of CDM Regulations, nuclear quality standards, and quality assurance approaches will be beneficial.
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! A full job description is available upon application.

Sizewell C Limited (Sizewell C) is a nuclear site licensed company whose business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Sizewell C was formerly under the majority ownership of the EDF Group but is currently majority owned by HM Government and operates as an independent company. EDF remains a key shareholder in Sizewell C and the business therefore maintains close links to EDF as a part of its ‘nuclear family’.
As a Sizewell C employee, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. As a project, we do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
