Your Impact
Primary accountability of this role is to perform the procurement activities based on the current strategy for General Electrical Equipment (IEG)- including cables, cable trays, supports, fixations and other deliverables. To develop execution plans, prepare the ITT pack with support from Multi Discipline Team (MDT), let the associated contracts and manage the contracts throughout the lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include ensuring that various aspects of IEG equipment strategies are aligned, that contracts are developed and fit for purpose, and that value for money is achieved through the replication strategy of contracts from the previous sister station, Hinkley Point C. It should be noted that all contracts will be of the NEC type.
The unique aspects of the role include multiple and complex interfaces both across the consortia partners but also integration of MEH Alliance within the two area programmes: Nuclear Island (NI) and Conventional Island/Balance of Plant (CI/BOP).
This position will report to the Electrical Distribution Lead Project Manager and will work alongside other members of the SZC MEH Alliance and Nuclear Island Programme teams.
Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions
Lead the delivery of effective strategies and plans to support the development and demonstration of improvements to the SZC MEH IEG scope of works. This includes managing preparing the NEC contract pack, negotiation with bidders, letting and managing.
Operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation and in multidisciplinary working groups.
Have adequate cross sector experience and communication skills to be able to influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Be a contributor to the overall output and related strategies of the MEH team.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
A proven and demonstrable track record of delivery in a high hazard, highly regulated environment. Working experience in Nuclear industry would be advantageous.
Experience of developing and managing various types of NEC contract
Experience of managing and co-ordination major NEC contractors, interfacing with a suite of suppliers, disciplines, stakeholders and integration of the same into the overall project program.
Electrical bulk material procurement experience desirable, not mandatory.
Execution design engineering experience desirable, not mandatory.
Some travel to Europe is required.
Experience leading multi stakeholders to perform some work.
Good understanding of electrical systems including interface with different instrumentation and control systems.
