Project Manager – Conventional Island (Electrical) (Sizewell C)
Location: London, Bristol or Suffolk (Hybrid working - minimum 3 days on in the office) with frequent travel required
Salary: Circa £78,949 + bonus +excellent benefits including up to 5% bonus, contributory pension employee up to 7.5% employer up to 15%, 28 days annual leave + bank holidays, opportunity to buy and sell holiday, benefits portal with optional purchases such as private healthcare, dental cover, critical illness, electric car schemes, etc.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of high value electrical engineering contracts and working on Sizewell C’s new 400kV grid connection and on the Power Transmission building within the Conventional Island (CI) scope of the Sizewell C project. You’ll be at the heart of a regulated, complex infrastructure programme, managing the full lifecycle of electrical projects from design through to commissioning.
You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary teams including various stakeholders in a role that offers autonomy, flexibility, and the chance to influence one of the UK’s most significant energy developments.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manging bilateral connection agreements with National Grid
Managing complex protection and control interfaces between the power plant and the National Grid
Overseeing land & legal negotiations to achieve agreement in accordance with the schedule
Supporting the tender phase and delivery phase of electrical packages of work
Developing construction schedules and interfaces
Managing discrete technical work packages
Managing complex interfaces
Managing Power transmission substation contracts
Drive and Supervise design, engineering and construction activities for the grid connection and the Power transmission substation
Driving delivery of high-voltage electrical systems and infrastructure
Managing internal and external interfaces to ensure coordinated project execution
Implementing site-specific design changes and ensuring robust pricing
Engaging with stakeholders, suppliers, and senior leadership teams
Organize and lead regular technical progress meetings with stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical equivalent
5+ years of project management experience in high voltage/electrical engineering environment
Experience working with National Grid or any TSO (Transmission System operator)
Experience in leading Multidisciplinary teams and Contractors
Previous major project experience
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Strong abilities in Budgeting, scheduling and risk management
Background in high voltage distribution or Substations, or building services
Experience in regulated industries (e.g. oil & gas, MOD, energy, airports)
Strong technical knowledge of the power transmission system or high voltage electrical systems including protection and control, auxiliary systems .
Must already be working and a resident in the United Kingdom
Must be fluent in written and spoken English
Desirable
Nuclear industry experience
Chartered Engineer status
Knowledge of EPR electrical distribution design principles and Safety Classification
Knowledge about Grid Code, Relevant Electrical Standards (RES) and Interconnection agreements
Experience with procurement and contract management in large scale projects
