Project Manager (Roads)

Rates: £450 PAYE to £620 per day + excellent benefits
Contract: Temp
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage on-site project activities, ensuring adherence to safety expectations, timelines, quality and budgets
- Obtain permits and consents for DCO compliance requirements
- Support Senior Project Manager and teams in developing sourcing strategies and tender documents
- Provide written and oral reports on H&S, progress, cost, environmental monitoring, and stakeholder relationships
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and milestones
- Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Interface with other projects to maintain project overview and identify best practices
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks
Qualifications/Experience:
- Proven experience as Project Manager in large-scale infrastructure projects (£50-100m+)
- Experience in similar projects like HS2, HPC, Thames Tideway, CrossRail, or TfL
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in Road/Highway Project management
- Demonstrated experience in delivering Highway schemes within the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), including coordination of design, departures from standard and on-site delivery control
- Experience of working in a regulated Highway environment including local authority or Highway England, delivering S278 works and S106 agreements
- Knowledge of the Specification for Highway Works and its various series
- Proven experience in Chapter 8 and delivery/management of traffic management schemes (NRSWA qualification desirable)
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of utility works within the Public Highway, including coordination of multi-phase diversionary work
- Strong background in contractor management and delivery of adoptable highways and associated structures
- Skilled in development of programmes and resource management
- Civil engineering background, ideally with road construction specialism
- Degree standard education or equivalent senior management experience
- IOSH Construction Safety Qualification/NEC3 Contract training (desirable)
- Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 or APM) and Primavera P6 (desirable)
- Good knowledge of CDM regulations (desirable)
