GENERAL FUNCTION

The Project HSEQ Lead reports directly into the HWM SZC Project Director providing support to the HWM SZC senior management team and manages the HSEQ function.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead HSEQ on the SZC project:

  • Lead on liaison with the SZC client team on all project HSEQ matters,
  • Set the HWM SZC HSEQ strategy in line with HWM and client requirements,
  • Manage the HWM SZC HSEQ function and undertake management duties in line with HWM HR requirements i.e. appraisals, regular reviews, etc.
  • Liaise with HWM central HSEQ function and ensure that best practice is shared between SZC and HWM,
  • Lead on accident investigations by undertaking event reviews and setting investigation remits in line with HWM Group standards,
  • Ensure that all HSEQ KPI targets are understood across the HWM SZC project team and that all staff are aware of their deliverables,
  • Develop an HSEQ monitoring plan (audits, inspection, engagement tours, management reviews) in line with HWM Group and SZC requirements,
  • Undertake internal audits across the full scope of the HW Martin works and provide written reports on all completed audits,
  • Ensure that a robust approach to action tracking is in place which captures all HSEQ actions across HWM works and that all actions are addressed in a prompt manner,
  • Develop and lead on reporting to the client on all HSEQ matters relating to the HWM SZC contract,
  • Ensure that the project management system is maintained in line with HWM and SZC requirements,
  • Develop reports on SZC HSEQ performance and provide to the SZC team, HWM Group H&S Manager and Group ESG Manager.


EDUCATION

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent,
  • Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Health and safety (CMIOSH)
  • ISEP Certificate in Sustainability & Environmental Management,
  • Practitioner level with the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (PISEP) or working towards,
  • Internal auditor to ISO45001, ISO14001 or ISO9001,
  • CSCS MAP (managers and professionals)

 

EXPERIENCE 

  • 5 years HSEQ experience in a leadership role,
  • 5 years Construction experience,
  • Demonstrable leadership skills around client liaison.


SKILLS

  • Maintains full awareness of all existing applicable legislative and assurance requirements
  • Portrays enthusiasm and passion.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude.
  • The ability to liaise with all levels of management on a professional level, using good communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills to be responsible for managing own workload.
  • You should thrive on the challenges of working within a diverse role.
