Sizewell C is set to become a pivotal component of our energy landscape, delivering reliable, clean electricity for at least the next 60 years. As we move into this exciting phase, we invite you to be part of this monumental journey.
We are recruiting for a crucial leadership role as Prefabrication Project Manager - Heads & Ramps, based at the Avonmouth Hub, as part of our work within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) on the Sizewell C project.
This is far more than just a construction role. It's an opportunity to be at the heart of the UK's clean energy transformation-leading the delivery of major offshore structures that will help power 6 million homes with low-carbon electricity for generations to come.
As Prefabrication Project Manager, you'll take ownership of the o
ffshore precast elements-Heads and Ramps-which will be constructed at Avonmouth before being transported to the Sizewell C site. These are heavy, technically complex components, and your role will be vital in ensuring they are designed, manufactured, and delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Leading and coordinating the design, construction, and eventual decommissioning of prefabrication facilities-ensuring every stage is safe, efficient, and compliant.
- Managing all on-site activities at the Avonmouth hub, including self-delivery and subcontractor operations, across multiple interfaces and disciplines.
- Reviewing technical drawings, buildability, and equipment requirements, and advising on automated production methodologies and prefabrication best practices.
- Overseeing logistics, supply chain management, quality control, and the implementation of inspection and test plans (I&TPs).
- Ensuring compliance with British and European standards, and delivering a defect-free product through rigorous construction techniques and checks.
- Reporting on programme progress, cost changes, and coordinating across commercial, procurement, and cost control teams.
- Driving a safety-first culture on-site, maintaining full compliance with H&S regulations, and promoting continuous improvement.
Experience
- A proven track record in heavy civil works, ideally in nuclear, offshore, or major infrastructure projects in the UK-where safety and quality are non-negotiable.
- Strong leadership and project management skills across planning, commercial management, stakeholder engagement, and team coordination.
- Experience managing subcontractors and direct delivery teams on technically demanding sites.
- Familiarity with lean construction techniques, logistics and handling of large precast structures, and managing the construction and removal of temporary facilities.
- High-level communication and influencing skills to keep complex, multi-disciplinary workstreams aligned and progressing smoothly.
Qualifications
- SMSTS and CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) for Managers & Professionals
- Strong knowledge of cost, risk, programme control, and quality assurance frameworks
- Desirable: Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Scheme (TWCTS)
For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. As a project, we do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
