Join one of the UK’s largest and most exciting megaprojects
Sizewell C (SZC) is a once‑in‑a‑generation programme that will play a critical role in the UK’s future energy supply. We’re looking for an experienced Site Delivery Pre‑Construction Lead to provide strategic leadership across all pre‑construction activity, ensuring the project is set up for safe, efficient and predictable construction delivery.
The Role
Reporting into senior Site Delivery leadership, you will lead a large and growing multi‑disciplinary pre‑construction team. You will bring together engineering, planning, sequencing, 4D modelling, logistics, construction readiness and early works strategies into a single, integrated approach.
Working closely with Programme Directors, Delivery Integration, Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain and Delivery teams, you’ll ensure the transition from pre‑construction into construction is seamless, risk‑managed and strategically aligned.
A key part of the role is ensuring strong governance and that Principal Contractor responsibilities under CDM are fully supported through robust pre‑construction planning, coordination and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and maintain the overall Pre‑Construction Strategy, including standards, procedures and guidance.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing team, setting resource plans, recruitment priorities and capability strategies.
• Oversee major construction sequencing and enabling works, aligned to the Integrated Works Schedule (IWS) and critical path requirements.
• Drive stakeholder alignment through readiness reviews, workshops and sequencing forums.
• Lead scenario analysis, escalate key risks and implement clear mitigation plans.
• Produce executive‑level reporting, summarising decisions, risks, readiness and sequencing recommendations.
About you
You’ll bring extensive leadership experience in pre‑construction on major infrastructure or complex programmes, with strong stakeholder management capability and a deep understanding of CDM and Principal Contractor obligations.
