Plant Operator Competence Coordinator (Sizewell C)

Job Responsibilities 


· Support the Senior Works Manager and team in competence records and compliance.

· Ensure compliance with H&S legislation, procedures and contract requirements at all times.

· Provide HSW Support to the delivery teams in the review of project documentation.

· Attend and support prestart planning meetings where required.

· Undertake HSW safety engagement tours and formal inspections in line with project requirements.

· Attend client meetings and working groups on behalf of the CWA as and when required.

· Identify opportunities to change the way activities are undertaken to improve H&S performance.

· Analyse data for trends and produce reports and recommendations as required.

· Support the delivery team to investigate Plant adverse events and trends.

· Deliver training and advisory sessions to personnel and contractors as required.

· Champion behavioural safety and the building of a positive safety culture

· Promote the use of technology and business systems across the project.

· Be able to plan and monitor performance on SMART Objectives

· Provide coaching and mentoring to the wider project team in health, Safety and Wellbeing

 

Qualifications 


· National Diploma or equivalent L6 qualification (or working toward)

· Driving Licence

· SMSTS


Desirable


· Incident investigation

· CertIOSH

· CSCS card

· Site Environmental Awareness Training (SEATS) or similar

· 3 day First Aid At Work (or above)

· Fire marshal


Experience 


· Strong understanding of various plant machines and plant management.

· Strong understanding of UK H&S Regulatory Framework.

· Experience of managing health, safety and wellbeing on complex construction and civils projects.

· Ability to engage and converse at all levels.

· Competence in incident & accident investigation.

· Use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

· Ability to influence others and promote a positive safety culture.

· Ability to produce formal reports and documents.

· Understanding of the principles behind behaviour management.


Desirable


· Use of Microsoft Vision, PowerApps and PowerBi

· Mentoring and coaching skills

· Experience in one or more of the following

- Nuclear Sector

- Tunneling activities

- Heavy Plant operations

- Lifting operations

- Coastal/Marine works

- Temporary works

- Excavations
