Main Duties:


•    Lead and oversee the safe delivery and construction of earthworks.
•    Ensure delivery on time, within budget, and in line with KPI targets.
•    Identify and implement efficiencies in delivery techniques to ensure the Price for Work Done remains below the Total of the Prices.
•    Build and motivate a strong delivery team, enabling all members to fulfil their potential.
•    Maintain excellent stakeholder relations and act as the primary liaison with clients and partners.
•    Work closely with Blackwell's Central Support, Commercial, and Health & Safety teams to ensure a coordinated approach across all disciplines.
•    Report directly to the Assistant Project Director and Project Director, keeping the Senior Leadership Team fully informed of progress and challenges.
•    Take ownership of your section, ensuring safe and efficient operations every day.
•    Ensure all vehicles, plant, equipment, and tools under your control are compliant with statutory inspections and Blackwell policies.


Requirements:


•    Degree level.
•    CSCS card.
•    Proven experience in earthworks.
•    In-depth knowledge of modern earthmoving methods, plant, outputs, and technologies.
•    Strong understanding of earthworks specifications, materials handling, and operational constraints.
•    Proficient in producing resourced programmes and budgets.
•    Commercial awareness with strong organisational and document management skills, particularly with NEC contracts.
•    Solid knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental law, and employment law including Working Rule Agreement T&Cs.
•    A problem-solving mindset, always seeking safer, faster, and more cost-effective solutions.
•    Motivational leadership style with the ability to engage at all levels.
•    Calm under pressure, adaptable to change, and decisive in challenging situations.
•    Relevant CSCS card required.
