The project:


Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes. It will be a close copy of Hinkley Point C which is already under construction in Somerset. These new power stations will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.


This is an exciting opportunity to be involved right from the start of such a historic project.


The role will require you to work from the project in Suffolk at least 3-4 days per week. BPSS security clearance will be required.


Duties: 

 

  • You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
  • You will support the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs, and the overall contribution to the broader company goals.
  • You will support the planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
  • Support project managers in the delivery of projects by providing high level planning service for the preparation of project plans, producing baseline scheduled tasks, resource profiles and financial models.
  • Leads application of specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with the client, project team and stakeholders.
  • Influence on complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  • Influence client to accept proposals and recommendations.
  • Undertake task/s required to fulfil the requirements of the project/assignment. 
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.


You'll need to have: 

 

  • Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.  
  • Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and programmes in the infrastructure sector. 
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.  
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.  
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.  
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
