Package Manager (Sizewell C)

Main Duties:


Project Definition & Scope Management


· Define and refine package scope and technical requirements in collaboration with the Section Lead and subject matter experts.
· Translate project objectives into clear deliverables, milestones, and performance criteria.
· Ensure alignment of package scope with overall project strategy and regulatory requirements.


Design Management


· Act as Design Manager for the assigned package, overseeing design development, coordination, and integration.
· Review and approves design deliverables to ensure compliance with Employer's Requirements and applicable standards.
· Manage design interfaces between subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.


Procurement & Contract Setup


· Support the procurement team in developing tender documentation, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria.
· Participate in tender evaluations and contract negotiations.
· Contribute to contract setup, ensuring clarity of scope, deliverables, and performance obligations.


Subcontractor Management


· Lead the onboarding, coordination, and performance management of subcontractors.
· Review and approve subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, and technical submissions.
· Monitor subcontractor compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.


Interface & Stakeholder Coordination

 

· Coordinate interfaces between subcontractors and the Principal Contractor, ensuring seamless integration of works.
· Facilitate communication and resolution of technical and logistical issues across disciplines.
· Represent the package in coordination meetings, progress reviews, and regulatory engagements.


Commercial & Financial Oversight


· Administer the package in accordance with NEC4 contract provisions, ensuring timely and accurate execution of contractual duties.
· Conduct Earned Value Analysis (EVA) to monitor cost and schedule performance.
· Assess and validate subcontractor applications for payment in line with contractual terms.
· Support change management processes, including evaluation of variations and claims.


Construction Support & Execution Oversight


· Oversee the execution of works to ensure alignment with design intent, programme, and quality standards.
· Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
· Ensure that temporary and permanent works are delivered safely and efficiently.


Documentation & Compliance


· Ensure all documentation, including design records, approvals, and as-builts, are maintained and submitted in accordance with project procedures.
· Verify that all works comply with regulatory, environmental, and nuclear safety requirements.
· Support audits, inspections, and assurance activities as required.


H&SE


· Recognised as a champion for HSE through their commitment and passion to lead the Project HSE agenda, not only within their teams but across the project.
· Empowers and influences teams, enrolling all stakeholders to own the HSE agenda and to challenge and change working practices to improve safety performance across the project.
· Engages effective communication and feedback to ensure a consistent approach across all stakeholders consistent with SZC CWA policies.


Digital Engineering


· Leads promotion of Digital Engineering tools and processes across the project and understands how their functions support Digital Engineering.
· Establishes and implements an integrated digital business system, linking BIM data with schedule, budget and cost data to support business reporting and performance measurement.
· Able to articulate the benefits of Digital Engineering application to external contacts and all function members.


Qualifications:


Essential


· Bachelor's or Master's Degree in relevant discipline (Civil Engineering, Project Mangement) and relevant Site Experience within the construction industry
· CSCS card


Desirable


· SMSTS / SSSTS qualification


Experience:


· Experience in managing projects in construction engineering on complex large infrastructure
· Experience in projects and programmes of works working for leading international tier 1 contractors.
· Member of professional body such as APM PMP, or similar
· Experience running NEC3 / NEC4 ECC and PSC contract, cost and EVM systems e.g., CEMAR.


Desirable


· Temporary Works Coordinator experience
