Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: c£80,000k dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Following on from the success of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project (SZC) in Suffolk is the UK’s next nuclear power new build project. The project has obtained planning approval and has started construction works. It has recently achieved Financial Investment Decision (FID) meaning that all the funding for the full lifespan of the project is now secured and in place guaranteeing the full delivery of this new nuclear power station. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
We have a fantastic opportunity in the Pre-Operations function for an Operational Capability Programme Manager.
The Role
We are looking for an Operational Capability Programme Manager to lead the design, integration, and delivery of Sizewell C’s operational organisational capability, meeting operational requirements for project milestones, from commissioning to commercial operation. This is a pivotal role shaping how we build the people, processes, systems, governance and culture that underpin a world-class nuclear operation.
This role acts as a central point of coordination for the function, facilitating effective communication and leading on functional and business management for the team. The Operational Capability Programme Manager is a champion of knowledge sharing, and will set functional standards for performance improvement and continuous learning, ensuring effective implementation across the Pre-Operations programmes. Working closely with programme leads and stakeholders, the role ensures governance standards are upheld, risks are managed proactively, and opportunities for collaboration are maximized. Success in this role requires strong influencing skills, exceptional facilitation, and the ability to lead in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.
The Skills
Proven experience in programme or project management, ideally within large-scale infrastructure, energy, or defence sectors.
Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Strong understanding of operational readiness and operational organisational design.
Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
Ability to manage ambiguity and maintain focus on strategic goals.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Experience with growing and leading cross-functional teams and managing complex schedules and dependencies.
Skilled at creating a collaborative environment for diverse stakeholders.
Ability to support teams through change and maintain focus on goals.
Skilled in influencing and gaining buy-in for new approaches.
Skilled in coaching and mentoring to build capability.
Excellent problem-solving, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable messages.
Ability to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous learning.
Analytical mindset to identify risks and resolve issues quickly.
