The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Hygienist to support the successful delivery of the Sizewell C Project.

 

 

CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading delivery contractors - Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty - to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.

 

 

We are seeking an Occupational Hygienist to provide expert advice and guidance on occupational health risks across this nationally significant infrastructure project. Reporting to the HSW Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing of our workforce and supporting our commitment to the highest health and safety standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

- Provide informed advice on occupational hygiene across a wide range of activities

- Identify, control, and verify health hazards through monitoring and robust risk assessment

- Lead proactive health risk management initiatives, campaigns, and training programmes

- Support incident investigations and contribute to health-related project forums

- Ensure compliance with UK health regulations, industry standards, and CWA processes

- Deliver training to operational teams on health risks and effective control measures

 

 

What skills & experience are we looking for?

 

Essential:

 

- Occupational Hygiene Degree or Diploma; BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence

- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations and occupational health risk management

- Proven experience applying occupational hygiene practice across varied industrial processes

- Collaborative, proactive approach with strong written and verbal communication skills

 

 

Desirable:

 

- Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects

- Ability to design and implement innovative health campaigns and monitoring strategies
