Dalkia have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing facilities management team, working across the facilities at Sizewell C.


General Overview


Responsible for assisting in planned and reactive maintenance tasks and ensuring that the facilities provide a safe and secure environment that enables the client's staff to concentrate on their business activities with minimum disruption.
You will be an integral part of the site maintenance team in ensuring that the Sizewell C and EDF facilities/properties run smoothly and are successful in supporting business activities and for providing a professional service for our client. You will also be required to be part of the call out Rota which will result in a Stand-by payment, of approx. 1 in 5 or more if required to cover. 


Duties


•    Always adhere to all EDF/Dalkia Health and Safety rules
•    Follow Dalkia Guiding Principles
•    Report all Health and Safety issues immediately
•    Action both Risk Assessments and Point of work Risk Assessments 
•    To proactively manage Health and Safety
•    Participate in Health & Safety Codes of Safe Working and other Environmental issues to ensure total compliance with both Sizewell C and Dalkia Health, Safety and Environmental Policy. Report any omissions or risks that might compromise a Safe Working Environment
•    Fault find and where possible fix AC Units, installed pipework, at various locations for the client.
•    Ensure all maintenance consumables are available and arrange replenishment of all items to ensure agreed stock levels are established.
•    Complete all electronic and paper records such that an accurate Site Logbook record of all works remains on site for the Client's information and approval.
•    Be able to undertake any diagnostic analysis that the whole system may require.
•    Undertake a visual condition inspection of all installed equipment and submit a written report of any items that appear to jeopardise any aspects of reliability.
•    Enter dialogue with the Client's representative to ensure there are no outstanding issues and also to ensure the overall quality of service delivery.
•    Carry out general maintenance and good housekeeping practices and plant room cleaning to ensure that the life expectancy of all installed equipment is maximized.
•    If appropriate report on the performance of any sub-contracted works. 'Setting to Work' ensuring that all RAMS are appropriately adhered to and correct.
•    Attend to all reasonable emergency call-out requests as speedily as possible and maintain good communications with the Client with the progress of all outstanding works.
•    Make recommendations to the Technical Lead on matters concerning continuous improvement and "adding value" that may improve the productivity, costs, quality of service delivery etc. of all work for which the Company has a responsibility.
•    Complete all Dalkia maintenance tasks as generated by Dalkia Helpdesk
•    Complete as and when necessary, any breakdowns.
•    Ensure plant areas Dalkia are responsible for are always clean and tidy. 
•    Respond to client's requests promptly.
•    Maintain all site records and logbooks.
•    Look for ways to continually enhance the operation of the site.


Qualifications or Required Experience


•    Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or related field.
•    Member of an HVAC related governing body / association.
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC system design and installation.
•    Strong knowledge of HVAC codes and standards.
•    Plumbing NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2
•    Pipefitting ECITB NVQ Level 3
•    Basic IT skills as tablet will be supplied for Health and Safety reporting, Timesheets PPM's, and Reactive works
•    Role in similar position preferred.
•    Good communication skills
•    Attention to detail
•    Ability to work well without supervision
•    Qualification in Health and Safety (IOSH or similar) if possible.

•    DELIVERING: Ensuring that the maintenance is delivered in line with Dalkia health and safety policies and quality procedures
•    CONTRIBUTING: Ensuring that the maintenance is undertaken to meet contract obligations and any issues raised are closed out in a timely fashion and manner.
•    DEVELOPING: Identifying training gaps and liaising with the FM Management to ensure that you are fully trained and competent to undertake all aspects of your job and tasks.
