Opportunity for a Marine Section Engineer working with Balfour Beatty on the Sizewell C Project,


Salary : £50-£55k DoE


The purpose of the role, Section Engineer, is to support the planning, method development, technical development, and delivery of the Sizewell C Marine Works working within the Offshore Delivery Team and reporting to the Marine Sub-Agent. The works cover the Power Station Cooling system which includes pre-cast concrete heads, seabed preparation and connection shafts between the heads and the bored tunnels 20m below the seabed.


You'll have a flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change you may be required to relocate and/or travel as part of the programme. A team focus with the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels. A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative and influence decision making.


Main Duties : 

 

  • Assisting with site investigations and overall implementation of projects,  
  • Ensuring systems, design information, procedures and quality systems are adhered to,
  • Develop DCO and MMO license supporting documents, 
  • Development of construction methods and undertaking of constructability reviews
  • Support the procurement of supply chain, materials and plant,
  • Assisting with the development of potential supplier work specifications
  • Assisting in adjudication of supplier deliverables and proposals
  • Assessing the potential risks of specific projects,
  • Produce Risk Assessments and Method statement documents,
  • Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, contracting engineers, consultants, co-workers, and clients,
  • Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and methodology challenges,
  • Quality assurance, ensuring the project requirements are clearly understood and that quality control mechanisms are in place that provide assurance that the asset and/or service delivers as designed/required, 
  • Support the project delivery team, providing technical support,
  • Contribute to the accurate and efficient provision of daily site records and productivity reports weekly and monthly to the scheme.
  • Understand and utilise the appropriate digital tools to support the project,  
  • Ensure relentless focus on Zero Harm,


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • A 2:2 BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in Civil or Structural Engineering,
  • Eligibility to work and live in the UK,
  • Ideally hold a full UK drivers' licence.
  • CSCS Card -managers and professionals.
