Package Manager - Marine & Tunnelling (Sizewell C)

The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a Package Manager to lead delivery of a key section of the Marine and Tunnelling works. This role provides leadership of a complex package of work, managing resources, suppliers and interfaces across the wider civils programme to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.


You will take responsibility for the full lifecycle of your package - from strategy and planning through to engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning - ensuring outcomes are achieved to cost, schedule and quality, while meeting the highest health, safety and environmental standards.


CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading contractors - Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty - to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.


Key Responsibilities


Define the scope of works for the package and manage interfaces with other parts of the programme
Secure and manage the required resources, ensuring SQEP compliance and addressing any personnel shortfalls
Develop and implement effective execution strategies and plans in line with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP)
Maintain effective communications with stakeholders, managing delivery to programme, budget and technical requirements
Drive safe delivery of the package, applying risk management and continuous improvement practices
Track progress against milestones, schedules and budgets, escalating issues and resolving risks proactively
Ensure Level 3 schedules are aligned with programme milestones and escalate discrepancies where required
Oversee contractual delivery, ensuring List of Deliverables (LOD) are met and contractual requirements fulfilled
Manage subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to deliver work to time and quality standards
Apply commercial management, including contractor applications for payment, claims resolution and change control
Capture lessons learned and embed knowledge sharing across the project
Support collaborative working across interfacing packages to ensure alignment and best practice adoption


Essential:


Proven track record of delivering projects in technically complex and highly regulated environments, ideally nuclear or infrastructure
Strong project management skills covering engineering, procurement, contract and construction delivery
Experience managing subcontractors, consultants and suppliers across large construction programmes
Knowledge of NEC contracts and experience managing cost, risk, schedule, change and claims resolution
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills
Excellent organisational, numerical and analytical ability


Desirable:


Experience in Marine or Tunnelling packages on major infrastructure programmes
Engineering or construction-related degree
