Lifting Manager (Sizewell C)

Location: Sizewell C, Leiston, Suffolk (5 days a week onsite).

Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: £70,000 -£75, 000 depending on experience plus benefits


Benefits include:


Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.
Bonus: Up to 5% annual bonus.
Flexible Working: Options for flexible working arrangements to suit your needs and the business.
Pension Contributions: Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with up to 7.5% employee contribution /15% employer contribution.

The Role: Lifting Manager


We’re seeking an experienced Lifting Manager to manage lifting operations across the Sizewell C project. You’ll ensure all lifting activities are compliant, safe, and efficient, while fostering collaboration between contractors and promoting best practices.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the SZC lifting team and implement the Principal Contractor Lifting Standard.
  • Coordinate crane movements to prevent collisions and manage shared lifting equipment.
  • Promote safe lifting through forums, training, and a reward scheme.
  • Participate in lifting forums, information and feedback sessions to promote safe lifting operations and keep up to date with the latest technological advances and technology available.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure lifting compliance and innovation.
  • Drive a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage with all contractor lifting teams and help to manage industry best practice and innovation that sets a new standard of lifting excellence.


What We’re Looking For


Essential Skills & Experience:

 

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategy.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with contractor lifting teams
  • Results focused with team centred approach
  • Skilled at interfacing and operating on a large infrastructure project
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage with a vision and propose / implement strategy to attain it 
  • Knowledge of national and international lifting and associated regulations / standards
  • Experience of interfacing with the ONR/HSE
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations


Desirable:

 

  • Knowledge and experience of nuclear operations will be beneficial.
  • Experience in behavioural safety leadership.


Qualifications:

 

  • CPCS A61 Appointed Person
  • CPCS A62 Lift Supervisor
  • ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads TAP01
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
