We're Recruiting for a Lead Estimator within the Marine & Tunnels Team!

Are you ready to take the next step in your estimating career? The CWA is looking for a talented Lead Estimator to join our Marine & Tunnels (M&T) Team as part of an exciting project at Sizewell C-a world-class nuclear power station that will provide low-carbon electricity to 6 million homes. If you have a passion for precision, team leadership, and delivering impactful, long-term projects, this role is for you.

Why join us? As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), you'll play a crucial role in delivering Sizewell C, which will be a cornerstone of the UK's clean energy future. You'll collaborate with key stakeholders, including planning and procurement teams, ensuring that our estimating approach aligns with the client's expectations. Your expertise will be critical in producing high-quality documentation, and your skills in managing complex pricing structures will shine as you liaise with senior leaders and external partners.

  • Proven experience in infrastructure estimating, ideally in the civil engineering or nuclear sectors.
  • Proficiency in estimating software like Candy and Cost X, and strong skills in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Experience with AACE estimating principles is a plus.
  • A commercial or operational background is preferred, and a relevant chartered qualification (e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS) would be advantageous.

This is your opportunity to contribute to a project that will change the UK's energy landscape for the better. Ready to take on this challenge and be part of something monumental?

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
