Issues Resolution Lead (Sizewell C)

Location: Bristol (hybrid working arrangements will be considered) with infrequent to our Gloucester and London offices.  

Employment type: Permanent full-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience plus bonus and other benefits.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.


We’re looking for an Issues Resolution Lead (Risk, Opportunities and Resolutions Lead) to oversee the management of Sizewell C’s key engineering and technical risks and lead the resolution of some of Sizewell C’s most complex and transverse technical topics.


The Role


As the Issues Resolution Lead, your focus will be on identifying and resolving priority technical topics. You'll report to our the Head of Transverse Technical and Technical ROR Manager supporting the resolution of Sizewell C’s key technical challenges, and tracking and reporting progress throughout.


Communication is key. You will act as a vital link between technical teams, senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring smooth coordination and the timely flow of information. As a key point of contact, you’ll understand exactly who the critical internal and external stakeholders are and will facilitate effective communication to support a structured and consistent approach to risk resolution.


You'll be part of a collective effort to champion Sizewell C’s replication strategy whilst taking into consideration the balance of risk and opportunity. It's a highly collaborative role, requiring strong communication skills, strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.


About You


Strong communication skills -  you engage confidently with stakeholders and clearly present risk positions to senior leaders


You’re a natural problem-solver - quick to identify emerging issues and implement practical solutions to maintain momentum.


You’re highly organised - ability to juggle multiple tasks, set clear priorities, and coordinate across teams.


The Skills


Experience working in large infrastructure projects.
Background in engineering, or a degree in engineering (or a related discipline).
Project management experience in a relevant industry.
Understanding of Risk Management processes.
Excellent communication skills in client-facing and contractor facing situations.
Highly organised and ability to work independently.
Proficiency in IT skills.
 

Desirable


Previous experience in the civil nuclear industry.
An existing network within Hinkley Point C or Sizewell C will be hugely beneficial.
