Opportunity for an Interface Senior Planner (Sizewell C) working with Balfour Beatty on the Sizewell C Project,


The role will be the focal point for planning, coordinating and reporting of all project interfaces in terms of time and progress across the Civils Works Alliance (CWA) and will work closely with the CWA functions and operational leadership to ensure the interface planning are established to achieve the desired CWA project outcomes. 


This role is fundamental in supporting the SZC CWA in driving operational efficiencies through data-driven processes and reporting.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Interfaces Senior Planner to join our PMO team for a mega and complex construction project in the UK.  In this role, you will compile, plan, track, influence and report on the project interfaces with other Client parties and internal interfaces to the CWA works all in terms of time and programme. You will play a critical role in ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. 


This will include ensuring our:

 

  • Interfaces impacting the CWA Works performance and progress are reflected accurately and timely in the management reports.
  • Interfaces impacting the CWA Works performance and progress are identified, planned, coordinated, tracked, and communicated.
  • Reports use clear communication language, graphics and charts and convey the CWA strategic messages and status to the audience of the reports.
  • Interfaces planning is fully compliant with the SZC contractual requirements and obligations.
     

We are looking for an individual who will:

 

  • Work with Functional and Section Leads to plan the compiling interfaces.
  • Works with Section planners to ensure all identified interfaces are included in Sectional programmes and are logically linked as appropriate.
  • Attend progress and interface meetings to coordinate timing of the interfaces and raise early warning when interfaces don't progress as planned to enable the management team to proactively mitigate delays. 
  • Work with the CWA Delivery Leadership Team (DLT) to understand business challenges and desired outcomes.
  • Understand digital technology and how it can combine to provide compelling new ways of interface planning and reporting.


Qualifications/Experience : 

 

  • Experience in project planning, with a proven track record of success in complex construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor reports to different audiences.
  • Competent in project management software, including scheduling and reporting tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI and other project management systems).
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experienced in civil works planning with emphasis on interface planning and coordination.
  • Experienced  in  project  and/or  contract  delivery,  with  significant,  demonstrable  experience  shaping and delivering several projects within a multi-divisional business.
  • An  understanding  of  assigned  business  functional  domain  including  business  operating  model, activities, data, process, and information requirements. 
  • A dynamic self-starter with the ability to deliver pragmatically to agreed outcomes.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a fast paced and often fluid environment.
  • All round strong communication skills, across multiple and varied audiences.
  • Exhibits authority and leadership, takes responsibility, is Independent and self-starting.
  • Demonstrates  teamwork  at  the  highest  level,  highly  collaborative  approach,  among  the  first  to volunteer to help others succeed.
  • Ability to engage and influence peers and leaders in enabling functions and the business.
  • Highly customer and delivery focused, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

  • Due to the project's location, some travel may be required.
  • A strong understanding of UK construction regulations and reporting requirements would be a plus.
