Interface Oversight Lead (Sizewell C)

Employment type: Permanent full-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position.

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. 
 

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
 

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Interface Oversight Lead. You’ll help to oversee the interfaces within and across each of the delivery programmes within Sizewell C ensuring alignment throughout the project at all stages. 


The role will be based in London with travel to the Sizewell C site in Suffolk, at key stakeholders’ offices in the UK and potentially overseas as required. The role may progress to being part or fully based at Sizewell C site as construction activities increase.


The Role

 

  • As the Interface Oversight Lead you’ll be responsible for ensuring the interfaces, both technical and delivery, are actively managed with a particular delivery programme of the Sizewell C project through engagement with project managers. 
  • The role will involve developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, and tracking interfaces within and impacting the delivery programme. 
  • You’ll also be involved in reviewing and monitoring controls and reporting on a regular basis to the business and establishing communication channels between Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C for process improvements and lessons learned. 


About You

 

  • You’ll have experience of working in a complex construction or infrastructure environment, with proven skills in stakeholder management, team management, influencing and communication. 
  • Ideally, you’ll have worked in an interface or project management role, where communication, organisation and relationship building have been key. 
  • You’ll be able to provide clear direction, with an emphasis on getting things done whilst engaging and motivating others. 
     

The Skills

 

  • Experience of working within a similar complex construction environment.
  • Experience of working on major infrastructure projects in a similar industry. 
  • Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate previous experience of effective stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work within a challenging stakeholder group.
  • Experience of working across services within multidisciplinary teams; interacting with projects and teams outside of direct line management
  • Be able to lead, motivate and build a high performing team . 


Desirable

 

  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

* Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue. 
 

25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.
This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street
