Integrated Assurance Manager (Sizewell C)

Location: London, occasional travel to Suffolk (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days in the office)

Contract Type: Office-based, with hybrid working flexibility
Working Pattern: Full time
Salary: Competitive salary, based on experience.

Benefits:

28 days holiday + bank holidays
10% annual performance bonus
Market-leading pension (up to 7.5% employee contribution, 15% company contribution)

We operate on an office-based contract model, but support hybrid working where possible. This means you’ll need to be based within reasonable travel distance of the office and able to attend in person when business needs require—typically 2–3 days per week, though this may vary by team or project.

The Role

Sizewell C (SZC) is building Britain’s energy future — and we need brilliant minds to help us do it right. As Integrated Assurance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding a robust assurance environment across one of the UK’s most complex and mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, you’ll lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the enterprise-wide Integrated Assurance Framework that aligns and coordinates assurance activities across all lines of defence — from internal audit to nuclear safety, risk, regulatory compliance, and project controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain a fit-for-purpose Integrated Assurance Framework, aligned with the Integrated Assurance Strategy.
Support the Head of Internal Audit and the Integrated Assurance Forum in embedding assurance practices across SZC.
Collaborate with assurance providers to ensure alignment and consistency in assurance processes.
Promote awareness and understanding of the Framework across the business through engagement and training.
Develop KPIs and conduct periodic maturity assessments to evaluate Framework effectiveness.
Lead the creation and delivery of an annual improvement plan based on assessment outcomes.
Provide expert advice on assurance methodologies and their application across the organisation.
In 2026, areas of focus in addition to the above are likely to include preparation for Provision 29 of the UK Corporate Governance Code and supporting the enhancement of the fraud risk management framework.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

Proven expertise in assurance or internal audit at a senior level.
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIA, CRMA, CMIIA, IRM, CRM).
Strong experience coordinating Line 1, 2, and 3 assurance activities.
Skilled in developing assurance plans in complex environments.
Deep knowledge of assurance tools, techniques, and models (e.g. Three Lines, Risk–Control–Assure).
Excellent communicator with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience in regulated industries or major capital projects (e.g. nuclear).
Familiarity with standards like ISO 9001, ISO 31000, and digital assurance systems.
Resilient, delivery-focused, and adaptable to change.

Power in Diversity

Sizewell C is a great place to work, where everyone is welcome.

To fulfil our commitment of doing the power of good for Britain, our ambition is to have a workforce which reflects and benefits the society we are part of and serve.  Every worker on SZC, wherever they are, should help to create and experience the right environment where everyone on the team understands, respects and embraces diversity with a culture where everyone is treated with equal respect and are all given equal access to opportunities.  By valuing the different points of view and experiences that having a diverse team brings, and by fostering an inclusive climate, we will create a great place to work and a more successful project.

We create the right environment where people feel able to bring their whole selves to work. Whilst working together there is mutual trust and appreciation created through the building of meaningful relationships with one another, aligned with our key values:

Respect: Value the rules and environment in which we operate

Positivity: Positively challenge poor quality and performance
Humility: Be open to other’s points of view and ideas, be willing to debate and to compromise
Solidarity: One team, working closely together and helping each other
Clarity: Communicate clearly and consistently

Everyone is able to get the most from their work and the workplace, and in return, give their best.

Sizewell C Limited (Sizewell C) is nuclear site licensed company whose business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.  Sizewell C was formerly under the majority ownership of the EDF Group but is currently majority owned by HM Government and operates as an independent company. EDF remains a key shareholder in Sizewell C and the business therefore maintains close links to EDF as a part of its ‘nuclear family’.

As a Sizewell C employee, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email, or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.

For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. As a project, we do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
