This role is crucial in supporting the innovative and forward-thinking Sizewell C project, a landmark initiative that will generate 3.2 gigawatts of low-carbon electricity, powering around 6 million homes and securing a sustainable energy future for at least 60 years.

Why This Role Is Crucial:

As an IT Project Manager, you will be an essential part of the Alliance IT Team, reporting to the Alliance IT Programme Manager. Your role will involve supporting all partners in the Alliance with their IT needs, ensuring they work with validated and approved technology. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare internal and external reports, ensuring they provide relevant information for informed, cost-effective decisions.
  • Initiate and maintain good scope, information, and configuration management principles.
  • Develop, implement, and update resource allocation plans (OBS), raising appropriate requests.
  • Produce plans for the team to achieve goals and log any unresolved issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Be accountable for KPIs in line with project objectives and monitor performance.
  • Ensure the team adopts productivity and project controls techniques.
  • Incorporate both operational and commercial constraints into decision-making.
  • Advocate for consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven track record of project delivery.
  • Good understanding of standard forms of contracts and commercial/project management communications.
  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • Effective team management skills, empowering and inspiring others to build effective teams.
  • Ability to mentor and support team members where required.
  • Commercially astute, able to work under high-pressure situations.
  • Strong knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
  • Record of a solution-based approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to see the project vision and inspire this shared vision among the team.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
