Health and Safety Manager (Sizewell C)

Main Duties:


- Provide proactive support and guidance to the company on compliance with statutory Safety, Health and Environmental requirements and company standards.
- Respond to requests for advice from colleagues and external organisations.
- Assist in the completion of risk assessments relating to Safety, Health and Environmental as required.
- Proactively work with operational teams to ensure that Safety, Health and Environmental factors are considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified.
- Undertake monitoring and auditing of the companies' activities, offices and work locations.
- Investigate incidents where required and produce detailed factual reports, identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement.
- Liaise with authorities and external agencies as necessary.
- Ensure that an adequate programme of training for Safety, Health and Environmental is established and that the safety culture is encouraged amongst employees.
- Raise awareness on Safety, Health and Environmental issues through toolbox talks and briefings, delivering training where necessary.


Requirements:


NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma
Membership of a professional body (IOSH etc)
Driving Licence


Essential:


3 years' experience in a Safety, Health & Environmental role
Strong understanding of operational risk, driver safety and depot activities
Confident communicator who can influence frontline teams and operational leaders regarding health and safety
Proven ability to drive behavioural safety culture change
Ability to produce analyst data and produce performance reports
Awareness of GDPR principles
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office based packages and health and safety IT systems


Desirable:


Experience in a Health & Safety Manager or senior advisory role
Previous experience working on or around large client sites or major projects
Experience using cloud-based SHE management systems
Knowledge of the transport industry
