The Opportunity

As HR Governance & Projects Manager, you'll sit at the heart of the People function, leading a diverse portfolio of high-profile initiatives and ensuring robust governance standards are embedded across everything we do.

You'll be the person who keeps complex programmes moving forward, identifies issues before they become risks, and creates clarity when priorities shift.

This role demands gravitas, resilience and sound judgement. You'll regularly engage with senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions, influence decisions and provide the governance frameworks that enable successful delivery.

No two days will be the same.

One moment you'll be preparing papers for Executive or Board review, the next you'll be managing competing priorities across multiple projects, navigating complex stakeholder dynamics and ensuring critical actions are delivered.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading Strategic Delivery

Drive a portfolio of high-impact HR programmes and strategic people initiatives.
Ensure projects remain aligned to business priorities, governance standards and delivery commitments.
Create clarity, structure and momentum across complex workstreams.

Driving Governance & Accountability

Embed strong governance frameworks, controls and reporting mechanisms.
Monitor progress, risks and dependencies across multiple initiatives.
Hold stakeholders accountable for agreed actions, commitments and outcomes.
Challenge constructively when governance standards, policies or processes are not being followed.

Influencing at Senior Level

Build trusted relationships with leaders across the organisation.
Provide confident support, insight and challenge to drive better decision-making.
Represent the HR Governance Manager in senior forums, governance boards and leadership meetings.
Prepare executive-quality reports, governance papers and Board-level documentation.

Managing Complexity

Navigate changing priorities and competing demands with confidence.
Identify potential issues early and take proactive action to maintain delivery.
Deliver high-quality outputs whilst managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Who We're Looking For

You'll be more than a project manager.
You'll be a governance professional, strategic thinker and trusted advisor who can operate confidently in a demanding and ever-changing environment.

You'll bring:

Significant experience within HR governance, HR business partnering, programme management or complex HR project delivery.
Experience working within large, highly regulated organisations.
A proven track record of implementing governance frameworks and strengthening controls.
The credibility and confidence to influence, challenge and engage senior stakeholders.
Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement.
Experience producing Executive, Committee or Board-level papers.
Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with a bias for action and results.

You'll Excel Here If You...

✔ Thrive in fast-paced environments where priorities can change rapidly.

✔ Enjoy bringing structure and control to complex situations.

✔ Remain calm, focused and organised under pressure.

✔ Are comfortable challenging senior leaders when required.

✔ Take ownership and drive solutions rather than waiting for direction.

✔ Build credibility quickly and influence without relying on authority.

✔ Have exceptionally high standards and expect the same from others.

✔ See ambiguity as an opportunity, not an obstacle.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
