Job Responsibilities

The Grader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a motor grader to level, grade, and finish surfaces on construction, roadworks, and infrastructure projects. The role involves interpreting site plans, setting grades, and ensuring surfaces are prepared to specification. Operators must carry out daily equipment checks, maintain the grader in good working condition, and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures. Strong communication with site supervisors, surveyors, and other plant operators is essential to achieve accurate and high-quality results.


Qualifications

  • Valid CPCS or NPORS (with CSCS Hologram) card for operating Graders.


Experience

  • Proven experience operating a motor grader on construction, roadworks, or civil engineering projects.
  • Valid CPCS/NPORS Grader ticket (or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and work from site plans, levels, and specifications.
  • Experience in fine grading, levelling, and surface finishing.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
