Fire Safety Advisor (Sizewell C)

Are you passionate about fire safety and ready to play a key role in one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects? We’re looking for a Fire Safety Advisor to join the SZC Site Delivery team and help shape a safe and compliant environment for all site operations. Work at the heart of a major project and make a real impact on safety performance.


Location:  Sizewell C, Leiston (site-based – onsite 5 days a week)

Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: circa £55,000per annum, plus benefits


Benefits include:


Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.
Bonus: Up to 5% annual bonus.
Pension Contributions: Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with up to 7.5% employee contribution 15% employer contribution.
Flexible Benefits: Additional allowance for a variety of benefits including.


About the role


As a Fire Safety Advisor, you’ll work closely with the Site Delivery Fire Safety Manager to maintain full compliance with UK fire legislation, SZC requirements, and Nuclear Licence Conditions. You’ll actively contribute to the implementation of our site-wide fire safety strategy, standards, and procedures, helping to create a safe and compliant working environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Support the coordination of fire safety arrangements across all site assets, ensuring compliance at every stage of the asset lifecycle.
Build strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders to promote adherence to fire safety standards and legal requirements.
Actively participate in delivering the site fire safety strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse teams.
Compliance-focused with a collaborative mindset.
Ability to analyse technical information and identify trends and risks.
Forward-thinking approach to emerging fire safety challenges.
Solid knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and standards.


Desirable


Familiarity with CDM Regulations.
Experience in major engineering or construction projects.
Previous experience as an Inspecting Officer.
Ability to influence senior leaders on fire safety matters.


Qualifications and Experience


Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Inspectors).
Membership of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) or equivalent.
Demonstrated commitment to professional competence.
