Environmental Manager (Ground Engineering Works Sizewell C)


Main Duties:


•    Ensure compliance with any legal environmental regulations and project-related related for the activities performed

•    Prepare environmental risk assessment and identify and implement environmental mitigation measures
•    Prepare project-specific documentation such as CEMPs and management plans for water, nuisance, and pollution control
•    Apply for environmental permits and liaise with regulatory bodies as required

•    Monitor environmental performance on-site and identify areas for improvement
•    Support site teams in implementing control measures for air, noise, water, waste and ecology
•    Carry out site visits, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and internal standards

•    Lead or support investigations into environmental incidents and share lessons learned

•    Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to promote environmental standards
•    Deliver training sessions and support wider awareness campaigns
•    Contribute to the development of environmental materials, alerts, and regulatory updates

•    Track and analyse new regulations applicable and provide guidance to Project Teams

•    Carry out data analysis (cause & effects) 

•    Communicate our good practices and our achieved improvement (internal) HSQE Management Meetings

•    Review project environmental reviews, assessments and management plans, and provide guidance to aid their development and update 

•    Undertake periodic checks to ensure the site is effectively managing environmental aspects on site

•    Provide guidance to aid all Project Teams with the accurate collection and reporting of consumption

•    Management and investigation of environmental incidents, liaising with the Client when needed

•    Report monthly data as per the Client's requirements


Qualifications/Experience:


•    Bachelor's degree in an environmental discipline (desirable)
•    IEMA associate member

•    Experience as an environmental advisor, ideally in the construction sector

•    Good IT skills

•    Evidence of team working skills

•    Good project management skills

•    An ability to take initiative

•    An ability to find solutions

•    An ability to work independently.
