Job Responsibilities 


• Engineering Delivery Excellence - Right First Time - safety, quality, programme.
• Engagement  with  Pre-Construction  teams  to  finalise  and  validate  the  requirements  and actions associated with: 
o Methods
o Temporary/Permanent Works
o Digital Engineering
o Quality
o Materials 
o Survey
• Management  of  Construction  Engineering  activities,  including  Site  Trials,  Temporary 
Works, Setting Out, Surveying, Materials Management and Quality Management.
• Ensure Inspection & Test Plans, Materials approvals are in place and implemented in line 
with  specification  requirements,  including  assurance  of  materials  and  workmanship  and 
that suitable records are captured for handover.
• Developing technical solutions that take cognisance of the requirements and site 
constraints including:
o Client requirements
o Development Consent Order requirements
o Technical Interfaces
• Understand  the  consenting  requirements  and  engagement  with  the  client  and  external 
bodies where necessary for timely submission and approval of consents.
• Work closely with the Temporary Works Manager and Temporary Works team to define 
requirements and manage delivery of Temporary Works on site.
• Work closely with the Information Management team to ensure that access is available to 
the latest approved delivery information.
• Deliver  work  in  accordance  with  the  Employers  Requirements,  Technical  Specifications 
and any other requirements and constraints. 
• Manage technical change by supporting and providing guidance to the Delivery Team in 
the development and submission of Requests for Information and Field Change Requests. 
• Working closely with Survey Team, manage the setting out and measurement of the works.
• Oversight  of  supply  chain  engineering  performance  including  offsite  fabrication  and 
manufacturing.
• Role in Digital transformation - embedding technology, tools, systems etc for construction 
delivery.
• Understand Lessons learnt from HPC (First of a Kind) to transfer to SZC (Next of a Kind), 
working with the Sizewell C client and CWA to embed the learning. 
• Understand the Assurance Requirements of the highly regulated nuclear environment and 
incorporate into the delivery of works on site.


Qualifications 


• Chartered or working towards chartership
• Civil engineering degree or equivalent


Experience 


• Construction experience, including Temporary Works and HSQE.
• Construction experience on large infrastructure projects including earthworks and structures.
• Good understanding of earthworks (eg geology, materials, methods).
• Good understanding of detailed design drawings, technical specifications and quality management.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Project Management skills (eg planning, scope definition).
• Good Digital skills, including use of BIM.
• Good self-discipline and time management. 
• Problem solving skills, creative thinking
• Marine structures.
• Deep foundations.
• Surveying on construction sites
• Experience of managing temporary works 
• Experience of managing surface water and groundwater in earthworks
