The  purpose  of  the  role  is  to  provide  electrical  engineering  expertise  to  the  project  team.  The  Electrical Engineer will support the design, implementation, and oversight of the electrical systems and infrastructure, ensuring compliance, safety, and performance across the marine and tunnel phase of work. 
He will report to the CWA site wide electrical manager in a first step, and he will be based on project office in 
the Orwell logistic park with regular site visits.  


The Electrical Engineer will support the electrical team across the project, responsibilities including but not 
limited to:


• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for the team.
• Design, develop and maintain thorough testing regime for systems on site.
o Overseeing all electrical aspects and establishment of the TBM, including power supply, control 
panels, and auxiliary systems.
o Hands-on experience setting up Power transformers, Supplies for HV/LT for the TBMs, 
(Slurry/EPB), Coordinating the Electrical establishment setup at site.
(i) Commanding  knowledge  and  experience  in  working  out  the  power  consumption  of 
TBM Tunnelling Site (STP, EPB or Dual mode TBMs) including but not limited to STP 
Establishment Power requirements
(ii) TBM Power requirements
(iii) Conveyor power requirements
(iv) TBM Auxiliary power requirements (Grout Plant, Gantry Cranes, Chiller Plant, 
ventilation, WTP etc),
(v) LT/HV Cabling scheme for TBM. 
o Transformers, grids, power supply units,
• Conduct calculations/simulations to support design decisions.
• Assist technically with installation and commissioning of systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical engineering problems and equipment breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes/standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other teams on the project and co-ordinate works.
• Write risk and method statements
• Completing permit applications
• Support and review subcontractors design and implementation planning.


Qualifications 


Essential
• Degree or equivalent in electrical /electronic engineering
• ECS Card
• 17th/18th Edition Qualification
• Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems
• Experience with TBMs is Mandatory


Experience 


Essential
• Project and process management 
• Experienced in a similar position and able to demonstrate required knowledge
• Ability to design and troubleshoot electrical systems
Desirable
• Nuclear/license condition experience. 
• AutoCAD Experience
 Experience working within Joint Ventures/Alliances.
• UK major construction experience and associated training.
• Designing electrical systems, including schematics and control panel layouts.
• Installing and commissioning electrical equipment like motors, sensors, and actuators
• PLC Programming and maintenance
