Main Duties:
· Preparation / review of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Inspection and Test Plans.
· Managing the scheduled shift pattern and review of handover from prior shift
· Preparation of shift handover notes and scheduled for follow on shift works where appropriate
· Supervise works to ensure all works are carried out safely.
· Managing the monitoring of inspections, as- builts / visiting the works regularly throughout the shift.
· Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policies and report any standards on the site which are considered by you as inadequate.
· Maintain good working relations with client and regulators, with our supply chain.
· Attend coordination meetings
· Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works. Formally request any missing information in sufficient time to allow the programme to proceed without delay.
· Ensure full understanding of information provided from the pre-shift shift briefing / POWRA.
· Arrange formal checking of setting out and ensure check request form is completed.
· Confirm in writing, any verbal instructions received from the client / designer's staff and ensure that comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works are maintained.
· Ensure engineers complete inspection and test plans as required by the Specification, including checks of dimension accuracy and quality.
· Designs are followed, undertaking inspections where necessary and feedback design change requirements
· Ensure familiarization and compliance with any relevant work specific tasks and undertake any relevant training.
Requirements:
· Civil Engineering to HNC / Degree level and have at least 5 years relevant professional experience.
· Must hold a valid suitable grade of CSCS card and hold certificates/training below:
· SMSTS
· Proven experience of a large scale project managing across multiple sub contractors.
· Knowledge of lifting operations
· Successful experience in management role.
· Competent knowledge in Earthworks, Structures, Marine, Ground engineering and/or heavy civils (preferable)
· Ability to manage engineers and operatives.
· Experience of maintaining good relations with designer and client.
· Knowledge of Government legislation and Company policy on all matters relating to safety and environment.
· Thorough knowledge of construction procedures and working methods.
· Knowledge of Civil Engineering sufficient to attain Chartered member level of ICE or another.
· Able to support learning & institution recognition for others as delegated engineer.
· Ability to contribute to the design, development, construction, commissioning or maintenance of civil engineering products, equipment, processes, systems or services.
· Knowledge of the procedures and methods for testing site materials, understanding the requirements of any laboratory.
· Understand specified tolerances for work activities in progress.
Desirable:
· Professional membership of engineering or project management organization
· First responder training
· Incident controller training
· First aid
