Opportunity for a Drone Coordinator (Sizewell C) working with the The Civil Works Alliance on the Sizewell C Project,
The purpose of the role is to employ a skilled and versatile Drone Coordinator who is also a certified Drone Pilot with proven experience in data processing, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and data management. This role involves coordinating drone operations, flying UAVs for data collection, managing flight logistics and compliance, and processing spatial data for analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will bridge technical drone work with strategic data insights to support our operational, environmental, or
infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified UAV/Drone Pilot (e.g.,CAA, A2 CofC, GVC, RPCs)Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Geography, Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience in drone operations and geospatial data processing. - Proficient in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and photogrammetry tools (Pix4D, DroneDeploy, Propeller, Agisoft Metashape, etc.).
- Experience with various digital data formats.
- Strong understanding of airspace regulations, safety protocols, and UAV best practice
- CWA Survey Lead
- Survey Manager (Enabling & Earthworks)
- Geospatial Monitoring Manager
- Surveyor
- Survey Data Manager
- Surveyor
- Drone / UAV Coordinator/Surveyor
Desirable Skills:
- Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, SQL) for spatial data analysis or automation.
- Familiarity with cloud-based GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS from Esri UK, QGIS (open-source), Maptitude Google Earth).
- Knowledge of remote sensing, civil engineering & digital engineering.
- Excellent communication, project coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of fieldwork and office-based tasks.
- Project based (Suffolk)
- Hybrid working (based on candidate's experience)
