Deputy Plant Manager (Sizewell C)

Job Responsibilities 


As Deputy Plant Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our plant operations run like clockwork, supporting both day‑to‑day activity and long‑term project delivery. You will:


• Lead and support the Plant Yard Team, fostering a positive, safety‑first culture
• Oversee mobilisation and demobilisation of plant across multiple sites
• Manage plant availability, utilisation and reporting, ensuring assets meet project standards
• Collaborate with Fitters, Welders, Mechanics and Site Teams to plan maintenance and ensure resources meet production needs
• Keep the Asset Register accurate and up to date
• Coordinate plant movements with Logistics
• Source external plant when needed and evaluate repair options
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in operations
• Support recruitment, staff development, and the PDR process
• Ensure compliance, standards and procedures are consistently upheld


Qualifications 


CPCS Managers & Professionals qualification or SMSTS


Experience 


Essential:


• Strong knowledge of plant/asset hire (ideally geotechnical or piling)
• Clear customer focus and excellent communication skills
• Experience on major infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in Health & Safety management
• Ability to prioritise, negotiate, and lead teams effectively
• A drive for excellence and continuous improvement

 

Desirable:


• Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project)
•Experience with CMMS or similar systems
• Previous experience in a major project plant/geotechnical environment
