Deputy Head of Security (Sizewell C)


Location: London (with travel to Gloucestershire, Suffolk, and occasional visits to Manchester)


Salary: Up to £95,000 negotiable depending on experience plus car allowance of £6,000 plus private healthcare and up to 10% bonus. In addition there is a range of other benefits including: 28 days annual leave + bank holidays, opportunity to  buy and sell additional holiday, contributory pension up to 7.5% employee / up to 15% employer, opportunities for professional development, discounted  gym memberships, etc.

You will deputise for the Head of Security and play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of a nationally critical project. From managing regulatory relationships to overseeing security assurance across our sites, this role offers the opportunity to influence strategy, lead a team, and work closely with government, regulators, and industry partners. What you’ll be doing:


Deputise for the Head of Security and lead the security function when required.
Manage two direct reports and oversee delivery across the wider security team.
Own and deliver the Integrated Security Assurance Plan across all SZC sites.
Lead regulatory interactions with the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and ensure compliance with Security Assessment Principles (SyAPs).
Act as the Intelligent Customer for Nuclear Services Security (NSS), holding them accountable for delivery to time, cost, and quality.
Drive the development of SZC’s security culture and maintain regulated area status for processing Sensitive Nuclear Information.
Manage security risks and ensure robust mitigation measures are in place.
 

What we’re looking for:


Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within a highly regulated industry.
Strong project management skills and experience in delivering security functions.
Proven ability to work with regulators and senior stakeholders.
Excellent leadership and relationship building skills.
Experience in contract management, risk management, and budget control.
Desirable: Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and business continuity.
